Abstract

The development of potato production in 2010 was 1,060.805 tons, a decrease in 2011 which was 955,488 tons, but experienced an increase in 2012 which was 1,094,232 tons, in 2013 which was 1,124,282 tons, in 2014 which was 1,347,815 tons, decreased in 2015 which was 1,219,270 tons. As a result of this uncertain potato production, potato needs cannot be met from domestic production. Therefore the provision of superior cultivars must be improved by identifying genetic diversity, the value of heritability and correlation. The purpose of this study was to determine the characterization of the selection of thirty genotype potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L) as a result of crossing. The study was conducted in Jurangkuali Hamlet, Sumber Brantas Village, Bumiaji Subdistrict, Batu City, altitude of 1700 masl, average rainfall of 2500 mm / year and average temperature of 120 - 220 C from September 2017– December 2017. 30 potato genotypes analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Genetic diversity analysis using cluster analysis in Minitab 2017 software. Data is displayed in the form of dendograms which are calculated based on genetic similarity coefficients. Correlation between variables was analyzed using Minitab 2017 software. Analysis of the value of heritability was calculated based on variance analysis. The results of this study analysis of genetic diversity based on dendograms into 2 groups, namely group 1 consisted of genotypes 18 and 21 with similarity values of 64.75% and group II consisting of several subgroups of genotypes with different similarity values. The closest kinship in genotypes 20 and 24 with similarity values is 87.75%. The correlation between variables was very significant to the level of 5% on the variable number of leaves, stem diameter and tuber weight with plant height. Low heritability values were found in variable plant height and stem diameter while high heritability values were found in number of leaves, tuber diameter, number of tubers, tuber length, tuber weight, and starch content.
