Abstract

Soil health and fertility is one of the causes of continuous use of inorganic fertilizers, resulting in decreased production of red spinach. These problems have been pursued by alternative forms of technology to suppress the use of inorganic fertilizers by utilizing the process of recycling nutrients or organic fertilizers, such as rice husk ash and goat manure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rice husk ash and goat manure fertilizer on the growth and yield of red spinach plants. This research activity was carried out at the UMM experimental garden, Tegalgondo Village, Karang Ploso District, Malang Regency. An altitude of 550 m above sea level with an average daily temperature of 250-500 C. The research began on April 14 to May 30 2018. This experiment used the Orthogonal Contrast Randomized Block Design (RBD) which was arranged factorially, repeated 3 times with 2 factors treatment. The first factor is the provision of rice husk ash (A), which consists of: 30 g / plant (A1), 40 g / plant (A2) and 50 g / plant (A3). While factor II is the provision of goat manure (K), which consists of: 25 g / plant (K1), 37.5 g / plant (K2), 50 g / plant (K3). Observational variables include: plant height (cm ), number of leaves (strands), leaf area (cm2), stem diameter (cm), plant fresh weight (g), plant dry weight (g) and chlorophyll. Based on the analysis of variance, in general the treatment of husk ash dosage and goat manure showed an effect on the growth and yield of red spinach. Based on the comparative test of plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, stem diameter, fresh fresh weight, dry plant defecation and chlorophyll showed 50 g / plant husk ash and 50 g / plant goat manure fertilizer had better results compared to other treatments.
