Abstract

Skin role for protect the body from environmental influences and eviromental damage such as sun’s ultraviolet rays and microbes. However, it exposing ultraviolet light too often,it will be form free exogenous radicals that causes the skin damage and faster premature aging, then it’s needed natural’s antioxidant like green tea liquid exktract that able to inhibit molecular oxidation that can cause free radicals. Green Tea has anti-free radical properties, has produced more than 4000 bioactive mixtures in which about one third are polyphenolic compounds. Of the polyphenol compounds, flavanols known as catechins, are components that contribute 20-30% by weight of dried tea leaves (Mahmood et al., 2010). Tests conducted using the DPPH method. The DPPH method is commonly used as a material for antioxidant antioxidants (Kumaran & Karunakaran, 2006). The DPPH method is technically simple, workable quickly and requires only a UV-Vis spectrophotometer (Karadag et al., 2009). The principle of this experiment is the administration of a hydrogen atom from a substance tested to a DPPH radical into a non-radical compound diphenylpicrylhydrazine to be turned on by color (Molyneux, 2004). The results of IC50 (antioxidant activity) of PT.A, PT.B, and PT.C were 10.72 ppm, 5.80 ppm, and 109.75 ppm. There is no striking difference from the sample. The smaller the value of IC50 obtained (<50 mg/L) then the higher the antioxidant activity (Molyneux, 2004).
