Abstract

Green shell is one type of shell in Indonesia. The growth of green shell is increasing with the large demand for public consumption. It produces solid waste shells in the form of a shell is high enough. These result conditions in unbalanced ecosystems, so to reduce the contamination, the green shell can be used for cementitious partial replacement. Because the shells contain a chemical compound that is pozzolanic. The shell's shell was burned at 750oC and 900oC so that it became ash which was then used for cementitious. Physical test results obtained that cementitious made of shellfish ash with a combustion temperature 900oC finer grains. In terms of shell ash color with combustion temperature 750oC resembling cement, setting time on ash with burning almost the same as PC. From the results of examination of chemical compounds, obtained that the content of CaO increased in ash combustion temperature 900oC. the dominant crystalline phase of CaCO3 on combustion ash 750oC, while at combustion of 900oC dominant CaO compounds. Variation of test material from 0% to 20% with cubic specimen test sample 5 cm3 with phase value 0.25 with 28 days treatment time. From the results of the compressive strength test it was found that the maximum compressive strength value was achieved by the sample with ash content of 20% without fly ash either on ash with 750oC combustion of 12.33 MPa and 900oC of 12.53 MPa.
