The cooperation develops when people realize that they have similar interests and at same time, they have enough knowledge and self-control to meet these interests through cooperation. The understanding of similar interests and the importance of kinship may be the important facts for the meaningful cooperation. Furniture artisans at Tunjungsekar Village, Lowokwaru Subdistrict, Malang City, consider the importance of cooperation. This becomes evident due to the existence of kinship between furniture artisans. The cooperation made between furniture artisans at Tunjungsekar seems really a positive one. It reflects within the result of cooperation in which artisans share opion and idea to each other to develop the enterprise. This form of cooperation definitely improves if the participants move into collective objective and concern with the benefit of this objective. Research attempts to explain the benefit of kinship system between furniture artisans in the furniture industry system at Tunjungsekar Village, Lowokwaru Subdistrict, Malang City, to build up the cooperation between furniture artisans. This research uses qualitative descriptive method in which the object must be observed. Sample collection technique applies Purposive Sampling resulting in 10 furniture artisans as research subject. Research instrument involves direct observation, leading free interview, and documentation including archive and photograph of furniture handicraft. Theoretical framework of research comprises to structural Functionalism theory and social exchange theory determined by George Casper Homans presupposing that individual attitude depicts the profitoriented actor.Results of research indicate that the cooperation between furniture artisans’ family has been favorable. The form of cooperation between furniture artisans’ family shows an agreement in determining sale price of artisan’s product, employee wage, and Information acceptance process conducted by artisans.
