Abstract

Crayfish Lobster (Cherax quadricarinatus) cultivation is the right choice commodity, as a substitute for seawater lobster cultivation that can not pick up seeds in the wild, due to a ban on arrest. Cultivation of crayfish lobster is still constrained many problems, including the slow molting and high mortality. Slow molting will certainly make growth, and regeneration of these lobsters is inhibited, while this high mortality, generally caused by molting and cannibalism failures. Starting from the problem, it takes supplements to increase the molting and degrade the mortality of crayfish lobster. One way to overcome the problem is to add spinach extract in the feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of addition of spinach extract in feed, which is best for molting and mortality of freshwater crayfish. The research was conducted on 20 August - 30 September 2017, placed in Fisheries Laboratory of University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The extraction method used is the maceration method using 80 % ethanol solvent and 1:3 ratio. The feed used is feed with the Semar trademark, with 40 % protein. Added extract in feed using sprayer method, with final volume (V2) 50 ml to 0.5 kg of feed. Lobster is kept in aquarium size 40x30x30 cm, dense stocking 10 tail / aquarium and water height 12 - 15 cm, for 35 days. Completely randomized design, 4 replications were performed with the addition of spinach extract in feed with doses of 20 %, 30 %, 40 %, and 0 %. The results of treatment A (dose 20 %) resulted in 97.5 % molting percentage and 12.5 % mortality, B treatment (30 % dose) produce 100 % molting and 2.5 % mortality, C treatment (40 % dose) molting 95 % and 2.5 % mortality, and treatment D (0 % dose) produce 87.5 % molting and 0 % mortality. ANOVA test results showed that feed with the addition of spinach extract had no significant effect (H0 received) on molting and mortality of crayfish lobster.
