Abstract

Background: Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is a clinical syndrome which occurs due to myocardial tissue injury caused by an imbalance between myocardia’s oxygen supply and demand. The use of bisoprolol may decrease the heart contraction and decrease the need of O2 for the myocardial. Objective: To determine the pattern of bisoprolol usage in acute myocardial infarction patient in inpatient care installation, Malang Aisyiyah Islamic Hospital including the dose, route, frequency, and usage rules and related to laboratory data and patient clinic data. Methods: Descriptive observational and retrospective studies based on medical records from the patients with acute myocardial infarction since July 2016-July 2017 period. Results and Conclusions: : Single use of bisoprolol is amounted on 16 patients (40%) with the most widely used dose was (1x2.5mg) PO 15 patients (94%). Combination therapy used is a combination of two groups namely β-blocker + ACE I of 15 patients (63%). Dosage regimens most that bisoprolol (1x2.5 mg) PO + captopril (3x12.5 mg) PO 5 patients (33%).
