Abstract

This research aimed to (1) describe implemented the problem-based learning model by using open ended approach on function material (2) find out the student learning outcomes through problem-based learning model by using open ended approach (3) find out the effectiveness of problem-based learning model by using open ended approach through student confidence questionnaire. The research subject was X grade IPS 3 as many as 22 students. The research data obtained from student assessment sheets, student learning outcomes and student confidence questionnaire using problem-based learning model with open-ended approach. The results showed that learning by using problem-based learning models with open-ended approaches could make students more confident their study, this is evidenced by an increased in the average score of students attitude during the meeting, the average score of students assessment in the first meeting was 52.02%, while the average score of students assessment in the second meeting was 68.69%.. Based on the learning outcomes, students who complete as many as 16 students and 6 students are not complete. The percentage of students completed value was 72.72%, so the student scores in good categories. The data result of confidence questionnaire analysis showed the significant values & lt; 0.05, which means the average score of final confidence questionnaire (after experiment) is better than the average score of initial confidence questionnaire (before experiment). The average score of final student confidence questionnaire is more than 67.99%, it is included in high category. Therefore, problem-based learning model by using open-ended approach is effective used in the learning activities.
