Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis is a chronic bacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and is characterized by granuloma formation in infected tissue and by cell mediated hypersensitivity. At present, tuberculosis drug monitoring is only done in hospitals and Community Health Center. It is likely that many tuberculosis patients are taking self-medication to a practicing doctor and then buying the medicine at a pharmacy. From the description above, it is necessary to review the profile of tuberculosis drug prescribing in pharmacies. Aim: The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the Prescribing Profile of Tuberculosis Drugs at Pharmacies in KecamatanSukun Malang City. Method: This research was conducted descriptively Retrospectively period January 2017-December 2017 Results and Conclusions: Presentage of tuberculosis prescriptions in pharmacies Sub District Sukun Malang City is 0.9%. Single drug prescription is 33%, more than one drug is 13.4%, FDC is 20%, and Combination is 20%. In the prescription of tuberculosis drug in Sukun Sub-District of Malang City, non-OAT drugs that accompany is vitamin B6. The percentage of prescriptions written by general practitioners is 13.3%. Prescription percentage written by a specialist is 86.7%. The percentage of male patients is 33.3%, the percentage of female patients is 20.0% and 46.7% are unknown. Percentage for ages 0-14 years is 46.7%, 15-45 years is 20%, and 33.3% is unknown.
