Abstract

This study aims to apply the model Treffinger pursuit and to determine the level of creative thinking ability of students in solving mathematical problems in the learning model Treffinger. The type of this research is descriptive research with quantitative and qualitative approach. The subjects of this study are students of class VII-A SMP Raden Fatah Batu with a total of 24 students. Data collection was done by observation technique, and test. The results of this study indicate that the application of Treffinger model can be implemented in accordance with the learning steps that have been planned with the model of the model performed very well, it can be seen from the results of student activities of 91.76%. The creative thinking ability of students in solving mathematical problems in the Treffinger model is divided into 3 levels, at the level of high creative thinking ability students are able to complete all the test questions and in accordance with all the indicators of creative thinking. At a moderate level of creative thinking ability, students are able to complete all the test questions and match all the indicators of creative thinking but the students' answers are less precise. At a low level of creative thinking ability students are able to complete all the test questions, but the student's answers are not yet compatible with the indicator of creative thinking. The average ability of students' creative thinking in solving math problems in Treffinger model in class VII-A SMP Raden Fatah Batu is 59% with medium category.
