Abstract

Population density is one of the most important parts for the government, especially in determining the policy to be taken related to many things related to population, health, territorial, land, education, welfare, and others. Thus, population census and mapping of population density are needed. In this final project, the writer build an mapping application of population density based on age level that mapping density of Batu City population. This application is built using the pmapper template as the user interface, mapserver as webserver, postgresql as its database and to create and manage shp file of Batu City used Qgis application. The data used are data taken from the civil service and civil registry of Batu City as well as from the publication of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Batu City. The data used are population density data of each village, education age data of each village, population density data based on the age level of each village. The data is then presented into a map of Batu City. The map is colored according to classification density, the darker the color of a village the more densely populated inhabit the village. It is hoped that this mapping of population density can provide an overview of the pattern of population density distribution in Batu City, so that it can be known which village areas need to be marked priority on population issues.
