Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand how marketing communication strategy in promotional activities undertaken by Department of Tourism West Nusa Tenggara to preserve the Lombok Island as Indonesian halal tour. This study uses the marketing communication mix. The study approach uses qualitative with descriptive type. There are five research subjects of the members Department of Tourism West Nusa Tenggara selected based on purposive sampling technique. Data collection was done through interview, observation and documentation method and analyzed by using Interactive model from Miles and Huberman with data validity test using triangulation technique. The research results are Department of Tourism West Nusa Tenggara using Strategy Profile communication strategy which aims to build the image of Friendly Lombok slogan to tourists, especially Muslim tourists.Conducting cooperation with several parties such as ASITA, GENPI, Regional Tourism Promotion Board (BPPD), private parties including travel agent to sell tour packages Department of Tourism NTB also approaches the community by forming tourism awareness groups, attend tourism events in various regions both domestically and abroad, and promoting through social media, websites and print media such as brochures and magazines.
