Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe Qira’atul Kutub learning in Islamic Education Department by using the 234 technique in reading bare Arabic text. Then, the students can give the signs in the texts by themselves. Therefore, from that point, there are some questions that will be analyzed in this study such as: first is how is the concept of Qira’atul Kutub learning by using the 234 technique, second is how is the 234 technique practiced in Qira’atul Kutub learning in Islamic Education Department, Muhammadiyah Malang University, and third is what are the obstacles to apply the 234 technique. Qualitative research design and descriptive analysis were applied in this study, then study described about the 234 technique practice. Because it applied qualitative approach, the data collection taken from interview, observation and documentation. Then, the data analyzed by Miles and Hubberman analysis technique by data reduction steps, data display, data inference and data verification. The result of this study showed that the concept of Qira’atul Kutub learning by using the 234 technique taught selected Arabic rules used for reading non-alleged Arabic texts. The analysis sentence is not complicated with irab but by the function of the sentence in the 234 technique form. It determines the 2 types of sentences, looks for the 3 elements of the sentence formers of the subject, predicate, and complementary and the latter determine the harakat by fathah, dhammah, kasrah and sukun signs. The application of the 234 technique in Qira’atul Kutub learning is begun by making syllabus and course outline for one semester. The approach of this technique is student centered learning, some learning methods and oral evaluation. There are two different evaluations, evaluation in the middle of learning and evaluation in the last exam. The obstacles that found are the students didn’t really understand about the concept of the technique and the way how to analyze the sentence by the 234 technique. Further, the vocabularies that student had is minim, it was the impact to understand and to translate in the Arabic texts.
