Abstract

The aims of this study are to identify how Ummi method applied in improving al-Qur’an reading skill for SDIT El-Haq students and to analyze the obstacles in applying the method. as for the problems of the background of this research due to the Ummi method that is highly prioritized and highly superior by the school with the realization of student achievement in terms of memorization using Ummi method. This study applied Qualitative research design. It was a study casus by descriptive qualitative form. The technique analysis that applied in this study is Miles and Huberman theory which has 3 ways, they are data reduction steps, data display, and data conclusion. Data testing credibility was member check and triangulation. The data was taken from interview, observation and documentation. The result of this study showed that the implementation of Ummi method in SDIT El-Haq significantly improved among teachers and students. It shows the satisfying result since the method applied in order to improve al-Qur’an reading skill. For students and teachers who can not read Al-Qur’an, by this method, their al- Qur’an reading skill was improved. Furthermore, the students were good at reading Al-Qur’an, their reading skill was increased. On the other side, the amount of students reading Al- Qur’an fluently and reading by tartil based on tajwid were improved in every year. This statement based on the improving amount of munaqosyah and most of all passed the munaqosyah test
