Abstract

The development usage of Power Electronics in power systems, causes non-linear equipment to be increasingly used in industry and households. Non-linear instruments can affect power quality because non-linear loads are a source of harmonic interference. The usage of filters to reduce harmonics has been widely recommended to fix these problems. This final project describes one of the harmonic filter configurations, that is parallel configuration Active Filter, or what is commonly called the Shunt Active Filter.The method used is Cascaded Multilevel Inverter. Fuzzy-PI is used to maintain the stability the reference value of the switching inverter. The use of Fuzzy-PI make the DC-link value to be more stable and constant. The design and system simulation results are in the form of THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) value. THD values on systems that use Cascaded Multilevel Inverters as active filter show a significant decrease compared to systems without the addition of filters or with systems that use the Conventional Inverter as active filter.
