Abstract

Background: Several plants’ compounds that have been tested through in vivo and in vitro are potential as antiallergic, which are turmeric and green tea. However, the study has not yet explained molecularly about the mechanism of action to its receptor, so the research through in silico is performed. The compounds’screening of turmeric rhizome and green tea which are potential to be having activity as an antiallergic is also performed in this research. Objective: To identify the metabolite compounds of turmeric rhizome and green teamedicinal plants that give activity of antiallergic and predicting its mechanism of action through in silico method. Method: This research was an in silico experimental research. The docking method was used in this research to predict the activity of the tested compounds on antiallergic receptors by using AutoDock Vina. The data were analyzed by using SPSS software with One Way Anova method. Result and Conclusion: According tothe result analysis, it can be concluded that there are 17 compounds out of 83 metabolite compounds in the tested turmeric rhizomes which are predicted of having antiallergic activity. Meanwhile, in the tested green tea, there are 4 compounds out of 12 metabolite compounds which arepredicted of having antiallergic activity. According to its mechanism of action, the metabolite compounds which are predicted to work as antihistamine H1 is 17 compounds in turmeric rhizome and 4 compounds in green tea, and none of the compounds are predicted to work as glucocorticoid receptor agonists.
