Abstract

Background: Some plant compounds have been tested in vivo and in vitro potentially as antiemetics from ginger rhizome plants and poko leaf. However, the study has not yet explained molecularly about the mechanism of action to its receptor, so that research is done in silico. In this study also performed screening compounds from ginger rhizome and poko leaf which has potential as antiemetic activity. Objective: To know the existence of metabolite compounds from medicinal plants of ginger and poko leaves that provide activity as antiemetics to predict the mechanism of action in silico. Methods: This study is an experimental study in silico. The study was conducted by docking method to predict the activity of test compound on antiemetic receptor by using AutoDock Vina. Data analysis using PASW Statistic 18 software with One Way Anova method. Results and Conclusions: From the conclusion of the analysis result, it is assumed that as many as 36 compounds of ginger rhizomes metabolite that have been tested got 3 compounds that have antiemetic activity, while in poko leaf that have been tested got 2 metabolite compounds. While the prediction of the working mechanism of the class Antihistamine is found in 3 ginger rhizome compounds and 2 poko leaves, but none of the compounds are predicted to work as dopamine receptor antagonists and corticosteroid groups.
