Abstract

Communication is a process of interaction between communicator with communicant which involves the exchange of messages, and create reciprocal relationship as result of the exchange of message between communicator with communicant. As once of important science in communication study is cross-cultural communication, in this study describes communication that involves communicators with communicants who have different cultural backgrounds. Cross cultural communication is studies as a strategy to minimize differences in understanding between two people with the different cultural background. Teach For India is the largest organization in India that focuses on education through vision “we believe that one day all children will attain an excellent education”. Since the establhismnet of this organization has contributed greatly to changing the educational order in India. Education in India has been known for many inequality problems, in which there are many children in school age who are not continuing their education due to limited family economy and limited human resources in solving education problems. To date Teach For India is consistent to deliver well-qualified human resources from eduational backgrounds to different cultures as teachers to provide the best quality of education for children enrolled in India, especially schools that are under auspices of cooperation with organization Teach For India. In the context of this study cross cultural communication studies are use as communication and interaction strategies among people who have different cultural backgrounds who are members of the Teach For India organization. Cross cultural communication also used as one of teaching methods in the Teach For India Organization that aims to provide the best quality education for children in India. The result of this study indicate that cross cultural communication in the method of learning as a strategy to reduce the level of anxiety and uncertainty is used to minimized the level of differences in perception between comminicator with communicant with different cultural background.
