Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of social workers in social services and the role of social workers in dealing with children with deviant behavior who are recorded at the Nganjuk Regency Child Care and Social Services UPT (PPSAA). This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. Research subjects used purposive techniques. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that the social services provided are: (a) Education, in educational social services the orphanage provides mental disciplinary guidance and study guidance (b) Religious, in the religious services the orphanage provides religious mentality to children to provide spiritual and moral support to them (c) Health, providing health services to orphanage children if they are sick by giving them medicine. The orphanage also holds morning exercises once a week (d) Caregiving, the orphanage provides adequate beds for the caretaker's children, and provides 3 meals a day and provides appropriate clothing (e) Skills training, the orphanage collaborates with various parties such as Job Training Agency (BLK) to provide skills training to them, and provide talent interest training.
The role of social workers themselves in dealing with delinquent children is: (a) Enabler, social workers help clients to identify and articulate their needs (b) Motivator, social workers provide encouragement to children, both in groups and individual (c) Educator, social worker educates clients with a variety of information and examples of behavior that can help them integrate in society (d) Liaison (Broker), social worker acts as an intermediary between clients or groups in society who need help or services community (e) Mediator, social worker will provide support to the child in overcoming the problem, act as a mediator, and provide advice.
