Abstract

Walnuts (Canarium vulgare Leenh.) Are typical plants of Maluku and Papua. Walnuts (Canarium vulgare Leenh.) Can grow in the lowlands to the highlands with varying soil conditions such as calcareous, sandy, and clay. The important role of Walnuts (Canarium vulgare Leenh.) One of which seeds are used as food ingredients in addition to walnuts free (Canarium vulgare Leenh.) Produces oxygen, roots as a water binder, and erosion prevention. This research was conducted in order to determine whether scarification and gibberellin concentration had an effect on seed viability and the growth of Walnut seedlings (Canarium vulgare Leenh.). This research was conducted in Klandungan Village, Tlogomas Subdistrict, Malang Regency, located at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level and the average temperature ranged from 28 ° C to 30 ° C. This research was conducted from January to April 2018. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which was arranged factorially, consisting of 2 factors, namely: the first factor was scarification consisting of 3 levels, namely: without scarification (S0 ), typed (S1), drilled (S2). The second factor is the concentration of gibberellin solution consisting of 4 levels: 50 ppm (K1), 100 ppm (K2), 150 ppm (K3) and 200 ppm (K4). Research data from each observation parameter was analyzed by variance with the levels of 5% and 1%. From the results of the study and the results of variance analysis showed that the combination of scarification treatment and concentration of gibberellin solution occurred interaction on seed viability and growth of walnut seedlings (Canarium vulgare Lennh.) On germination rate and number of leaves at 11 weeks. Combination of scarification treatment by drilling and soaked the concentration of 50 ppm gibberellin solution (S2K1) was the fastest treatment in germination rate variables, while the variable number of leaves in the 11th week was the most in the combination of treatment without scarification and soaked in concentration of gibberellin solution 50 ppm (S0K1). While the percentage of sprouts, randomness grew, seedling height, number of leaves 1 st week, 2nd week, 3rd week, 4th week, 5th week, 6th week, 7th week, 8th week, 9th week, 10th week, 12th week, 13th week, the wet and dry weight of the scarification treatment and gibberellin concentration did not occur.
