Abstract

Mathematics have great contribution in our daily life. One of the material that’s very close in our life is social mathematics. But, there are some research which one the students can’t understanding the material. Beside it, the functional of media in the class less attractive so the students are less interested to study. Pop-up book is the one of learning media has a superiority and as instructional media has a good message. Therefore, this research has aim for describing reability media, application media, and effectiveness instructional media pop-up book. The method used is descriptive research with qualitative and quatitative approach. The subjects used are students of class VII A SMPN 3 Batu. The steps of this research are apperseption, planning, implementation, and final steps. Data collection which one used are interview, observation, questionnaire, and test. The result of this research are (1) percentage obtained from media experts at 83,07% its mean the media feasible for learning media. (2) The appliance of learning media pop-up book contains social arithmetic material has been done very well in accordance with learning activities that have been designed by classroom teachers. (3) Efectivity from students response, teacher response, and test result got very good score. Result of students response got percentage at 91,64%, questionnaire of teachers response got percentage at 100% and the test result got obtaining classical mastery percentage at 90%. It shows that the learning media pop-up book, material social arithmetic very effective for mathematics learning media.
