Abstract
Research has been conducted to examine the effect on resin (Agathis loranthifolia Salisb) seedling growth from cow urine solution concentration and planting media composition. Tools used in this research include mattock, pile, small shovel, gauge volume, gauge glass, glass-based mixer, ruler, weight, oven, calculator, polybag, and writing equipment. Materials used in this research involve resin seedling, cow urine, and planting media (soil, sand and goat dung). This research uses group random planning with two factors and three replications. First factor refers to cow urine solution concentration (P) in three levels : P1 = 1.0 cc/l; P2 = 1.5 cc/l; P3 = 2.0 cc/l. Second factor constitutes planting media (Q) in four levels of sand, goat dung and soil, resulting in 12 combinations of treatment. Each combination of treatment consists of 10 seedlings where 5 seedlings become the model plant such that the research has 360 seedlings. The observed variables submit to: seedling height (cm), stem diameter (cm), number of leaves (piece), root length (cm), wet weight (gram), and dry weight (gram). Results of research indicate that the interaction of the combination of treatment between cow urine concentration and planting media composition doesn’t give effect on seedling growth, number of leaves, stem diameter, root length, and wet weight of resin seedling. The effect seems only shown in the interaction of cow urine concentration and goat dung on dry weight of resin. Cow urine solution concentration treatment of 2.0 cc/l (P3) tends to produce the best resin growth. Planting media composition treatment with sand : soil : goat dung of 1:2:2 (Q2) results in the best resin growth. Considering these results, research suggests the use of 2.0 cc/l cow urine solution concentration and 1:2:2 composition of sand : soil : goat dung as planting media.
