Abstract

Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a storage device located on a Local Area Network (LAN) / Wide Area Network (WAN) network. In this research the author develops NAS with Raspberry-3 based as a provider of network services as well as access point. Previous research on Raspberry-Pi power supply can not meet power on external hard drive, then used USB HDD Docking Station to fulfill the power of Raspberry-Pi. The author is also of two protocols, namely Common Internet File System (CIFS) and Network File System (NFS). Forms QoS network testing by performing delay, packet loss, throughput testing and upload-download transfer speed. The parameters used in each test are the number of connections of each client of the two protocols used. The results of the NAS research on Raspberry-Pi using the CIFS and NFS protocols show that both protocols have no significant difference. Will, for the selection of protocols that serve as a protocol on the NAS system can be determined from the operating system used and also from the purpose of making the NAS itself.
