Abstract

Background: Uric acid disease is used to describe the state of the disease associated with hyperuricemia. The treatments include anti-inflammatory therapy and Urate Lowering Therapy (ULT). The circulation of the use of traditional medicine such as kumis kucing (Orthosiphon) and black cumin herbal have been tested through in vivo and turns out to be able to overcome uric acid disease. However, this test has not shown molecularly certain compounds in nutritious plants yet. By the means of technological development, the research with a computational system is able to directly see the compounds’ work molecularly on the body's receptor or known as in silico. Objective: to identify the potential compounds for uric acid medication on Orthosiphon stamineus folium (anti-hyperuricemia) and Nigella sativa semen (anti-inflammatory) through in silico as well as predicting its mechanism by using docking method. Method: using Autodock Vina software to predict the activity of the tested compounds, in which the docking result was the value of affinity energy (Kcal /Mol). The result was concluded by using ANOVA one way statistic and followed by the visualization of the docking result. Result and Conclusion: the affinity value of Nigella sativa semen is not able to meet the drug’s ratio yet. Meanwhile, Orthosiphon stamineus folium contains some compounds that have the same affinity values and are suspected better on the basis of Allopurinol drugs. The compounds are 1-methylnapthalene, 2-methylnapthalene, limonene, p-cymene.
