Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) is influenced by several factors that make the resulting output is not optimal. In its conventional application, PV has many drawbacks, especially in terms of relatively low output efficiency and there are some problems that affect electrical power (P) generated such as Irradiation and temperature in PV, for maximum PV performance required a tracking algorithm that is Maximum Power Point Tracking MPPT). Modified Incremental Conductance (MIC) algorithm is used because it has good capability in tracking speed as well as given response, wherein MIC algorithm will be combined with Multiphase Buck Converter which has high efficiency and can reduce wasted power, Response given MIC Algorithm combined with Multiphase Buck Converter is capable of tracking up to 0.5ms with converter efficiency up to 96% and a 3% ripple, with Buck Converter as a comparison yielding 93% efficiency and a 5,5% ripple, it can be proved that syncronous converters have better efficiency than non- syncronous. So the PV system using MIC algorithm combined with Multiphase Buck Converter produces optimal system output.
