Abstract
Keywords: Financial Performance, CAMELS. The banking sector has a strategic role in supporting the running wheel of the national economy and development. Trust Of Bank as institutions need to be able to keep the public well and develop reasonable and beneficial for the development of the national economy. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is one of the business engaged in financial services and banking, which is doing business only in the PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. engaged in conventional banking. In assessing the health of a bank there are five (5) factors that may affect the bank's health, namely Capital, Assets Quality, Management, Earning, Liquidity and Sensitivity to market risk. The five factors referred to this concept as CAMELS (Capital, Assets Quality, Management, Earnings, Liquidity, Sensitivity to market risk). With this model calculation is expected to bank health will easier, faster and accurate results in the management of the bank. From the results of the measurements will be the Bank's financial performance. This assessment is done to improve the performance of the banking sector both in the management, shareholders, and the government. Results from the method CAMELS may enter upon the factors which the strengths and weaknesses of these aspects. This study aims to know the financial performance of the conventional banking at Bank BNI period 2005-2007 with the financial ratio. Financial ratio that is used consists of a sample based on criteria that have been determined, obtained a sample of research, namely PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Analysis tool that is used to prove the hypothetical in this research is CAMELS Conventional Bank, which according to the Circular Letter of Bank Indonesia, namely Bank Indonesia Circular Letter No.6/23/DPNP/2004. Financial performance of Bank BNI can be seen from the factors that many shows at the 3. The Bank are quite good but there are some weaknesses that can cause composite rank worsened when Bank BNI is not immediate corrective action. The advantages of BNI Bank on the management of factors that are at the 1, the Bank's Management has a track record of performance is very satisfying, responsive, able to adapt to changes in external conditions, and risk control systems have a very strong and able to overcome the problems faced during the this and the future.
