Abstract

Logotherapy sees every human being desiring life for a successful and meaningful life. A meaningful life will create a feeling of happiness. Happiness is not easily acquired, but the struggle to fulfill its desire to live is more meaningful. Logotherapy as a science that awakens and leads to a meaningful life and how to obtain it. The main character of Bidadari Bermata Bening novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy is struggling for a meaningful life and attaining self-existence according to what is desired in life. Thus, this study entitled " The Study of Logotherapy of Woman Main Character in Bidadari Bermata Bening Novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy ". Based on that, the formulation of the problems in these research are (1) the form of freedom of will of the woman main character in the Bidadari Bermata Bening novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, (2) the form of desire for a meaningful life from the woman main character in Bidadari Bermata Bening novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, and (3) the form of the meaning of lifefrom woman main character in the Bidadari Bermata Bening novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This research method was used study document method through psychology approach to literature. The source of data in this research was Bidadari Bermata Bening novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy and research data in the form of quotations, sentences, and units of stories that exist in the novel. The data found will be through the process of data processing which is, (1) looking back at each of the data categories that correspond to the elements studied, (2) analyzing data according to the elements studied, and (3) drawing conclusions based on the results of the analysis. From the results of the analysis and discussion, it was concluded that the Bidadari Bermata Bening Novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, found the forms to achieve a meaningful life through the theory of logotherapy. The form of freedom of desire was the freedom to be accompanied by a sense of responsibility and freedom to change the condition of the life. The form of desire for meaningful life was the desire to live and the purpose of life that is achieved. The form of the meaning of life there was three values that are creative, appreciation, and attitude. All three forms was applied in the life of the woman main character through effort and struggle so she achieves a happy and meaningful life
