Abstract

Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) Is one of the most useful medicinal plants. The content of substances contained in ginger, among others, essential oil and starch. Ginger plants are widely cultivated under the shade of trees because it has a good tolerance to shade. Ginger can run its life cycle normally even without the full intensity of light. Potentially shaded dry land for ginger development is widely available in Indonesia. Utilization of these lands strongly supports the increase of national ginger production. The purpose of this study was to Assess Growth and Development of Rhizome Several Ginger Genotypes cultivated as intercropping at jatropha curcas. This research was conducted in jatropha plantation aged 2.144 hst Kedungpenggaron Village, Kejayaan sub-district Pasuruan with elevation 117 MDPL with coordinates 7 ° 46'18.6 "s 112 ° 50'25.2" e. The time of this research is 6 months starting from October 2017 until March 2018. The experiment design used is RKTL 1 factor that is the genotype of ginger gajah which consists of 10 kinds of genotype: genotype from Banyuwangi, Sidoarjo, Malang, Bojonegoro, Jombang, Bandung , Purwakarta, Banten, Lampung, Jambi. The results showed that the growth and development of the initial rhizome 10 genotypes of ginger gajah planted on Jatropha curcas observed at 14 hst to 105 hst did not differ significantly on all parameters. Gesture analysis on 14 quantitative variables obtained one group of 9 genotypes of ginger gajah with 1 genotype ginger gajah from Lampung which has similarity level of 31.71%, closest similarity value on ginger gajah from Banyuwangi with ginger gajah from Jombang with 86.26% similarity
