Abstract

Background : Basil leaves have the womb tannin that serves as sun protection factor. In accordance with climate Indonesia tropical and mobility of solid needed a kind of cosmetics sunscreens that protects the skin from exposure to the sun. Most aseptabel preparation and effective is cream because it is easily terpenetrasi to the skin and accounted value sun protection factor which is in preparation. Objective : Based on the physical characteristics (ph, dispersife power, viscosity and microbial contamination) and aseptabilitas of the three the formula that made, formula III (3%) the best because they give the physical characteristics, aseptabilitas and to value spf has the highest. Methods : This research to determining at levels of how extract basil leaves (1%, 2%, and 3%) give characteristic physical, aseptabilitas, and effectiveness of value sun protection factor (SPF) the best in formula cream sunscreens with the base vanishing manner cream with an acid stearate and tea as emulgator. Evaluation covering type an emulsion, dispersife power, viscosity, microbial contamination and effectiveness spf value. Result and Conclusion : The results of investigation organoleptis for the third formula having a soft, smelling typical leaves, and the same tint that is green. Analysis statistic with one-way anova find that the difference meaningful for the evaluation of covering ph, viscosity, and the sun protection factor (SPF), but for power spread there is no difference meaningful. For the evaluation of aseptabilitas, formula III (3 percent) is the meet the criteria for assessing which aseptabilitas among all formula.
