Abstract

Kelor is a fence plant that can grow in tropical and subtropical climate in Indonesia’s. This plant rich in nutrients so it good for health. Low cultivation of moringa can not fulfill the demand of orverseas market hence the need for intensive cultivation. Alternative improvement cultivation can be raised up through cultivation by cuttings using a variety of planting media and growth regulator substances. The type of planting medium that suitable with growth regulator will accelerate the growth of stem cuttings in the form of early buds, the number of shoots per eye, the number of shoots per stem, the shoot length, the number of leaves, the root length and the percent success of cuttings (%). The purpose of this study was to learn the effect of various planting media with growth regulator on growth of kelor stem cuttings (Moringa oleifera). This study used a complete randomized block design (RCBD) in one factor that consisting 12 levels of planting medium with plant growth regulator and repeated 3 times. Data obtained, analyzed using ANOM (Analysis of Means) minitab program version 18 level α 5%, data presented with graphs and tables. The results showed that the combination of planting medium and plant growth regulator was significantly different from plant growth. Number of shoots per eye, number of shoots per stem, and best shoot length at age 77 and 84 hst against combination of sand, soil, husk, goat manure (2: 1: 1: 1) treatment with IAA 3mg /l number of leaves. The best number of leaves was found at 7, 14, 42, and 49 hst with an average of 2 strands in the combination of treatments.
