Film as one of the mass media, has the power and ability to reach many social segments, because the film is deemed able to meet the demands and tastes of the community will hiburan.Dalam this study researchers interested in the movie Wo Ai Ni Indonesia Viva Westi work that tells of life in a small family ethnic Chinese communities in Kalimantan, with the main character named A Lin, a young ethnic Chinese woman who had suffered a hard life making a living in Singkawang to survive. Indonesian film that uses the themes of Chinese culture, will become a distinctive perspective on the identity of the ethnic Chinese in the picture of life through visual media (film) to be captured by the audience. The film is also an interesting phenomenon in the film where there is representation of Chinese ethnic identity. The film is a motion or more precisely, moving images, and indeed that is what motion is life-giving element to an image. A movie accompanied by sound that can be either dialogue or music, and colors that can enhance the value of reality on film. Identity is defined as a trait or special characters from anything, if the man called 'identity. Identity is always attached to the personality, because personality is the background of the existing behavior in a person an individual. In the film text, ideology is certainly working not only on the content aspect, but also on aspects of form. Because the ideology operates not through direct expressions, then he never looked like a direct statement. In other words, ideology hiding in narrative structure, the codes, conventions, and the images (images) are built through a filmic language. Semiotics can be defined as the study of the wide range of objects, events, all cultures as a sign. Semiotics is used in this research is semiotics Pierce and Barthes. The methodology of this study is qualitative by using method of Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis that takes into account elements of the sign is, indices, icons, symbols, which then dimaknakan the denotative and connotative without prejudice to existing Myth (Roland Barthes) to obtain a picture or a general sense and relative thoroughly covers the problems under study. The focus of his research, among others, such as visual, angles, settings, lighting and audio such as dialog, sound effects. In this research, making the scene / shot or any other story elements that represent the Chinese ethnic identity was taken so as to represent the character of the ethnic Chinese and ethnic Chinese identity perepresentasikan it as the formulation of the problem in this study. Based on the formulation of the problem as stated in the semiotic analysis of film Wo Ai Ni Indonesia Westi Viva's work represents the Chinese ethnic identity, is as follows: Representations of Chinese ethnic identity portrayed in the film Wo Ai Ni Indonesia, more displayed in the form of symbols. It is seen in a visual film Wo Ai Ni Indonesia more display symbols of Chinese culture. The description of Chinese ethnic culture more displayed in the form of setting room, but it also displayed the beliefs and habits of ethnic Chinese community. In this case, there is a symbol of Chinese cultural identity that is poured into the shape of the building places of worship, ritual celebration of the Lunar New Year, I pray the Chinese community, as well as symbols of other Chinese ethnic cultural identity. In this film the characters displayed also figure that represents the character of the ethnic Chinese community. For example, a hard worker, a high sense of nationalism, the spirit of good family, moral, kind, diligent, disciplined and others. Ideology found this film also marked by the presence of a pro-Chinese ethnicity. Because the film is generally displays both sides of the ethnic Chinese community views as if to remove all this against the Chinese, for example, Chinese people are undoubtedly feeling of nationalism against the State of Indonesia, while also assuming that people of Chinese descent who always take care of economic problems only.
