Abstract

In the learning proces, the role of shadow teacher is to make the learning process of autism students easier. However, in the reality, they faced problems when they are doing that. That is why, the research problems of this research is: (1) What are the problems faced by the shadow teachers in helping learning process of austism students of 2th Class in SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang (2) What are the solutions of the problems faced by the shadow teachers in helping learning process of austism students of 2th Class in SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang. The aim of this research were to know (1) The problems faced by the shadow teachers in helping learning process of austism students of 2th Class in SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang (2) solutions of the problems faced by the shadow teachers in helping learning process of austism students of 2th Class in SDN Sumbersari 1 Malang. Descriptive qualitative was used in this research. The primary sources were: the shadow teachers, the secondary sources were like learning outcomes of the autism students, data of the teachers, and documentation. This research was conducted in 17 until 31 January 2018. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that (1) In helping learning process of austism students, shadow teachers faced problems when they were teaching reading, writing, counting, or make the students focus. The shadow teachers had problems in helping the students to read because they were still having difficulties in speaking. Teaching them to write neatly and independently was also difficult. Then the teacher also has difficulty while teaching students learn to count because students have to be lured first using instructions from the teacher. As for the problem of concentration, the shadow teachers difficult to make the students focus to learn because students are very difficult to control (2) the solutions to overcome the problems were preparing simple media, methods, or games.
