Abstract

Based on the result observation and interview in the 1st grade at SDN Girimoyo 02 Malang showed that the teachers have never been used media and still used worksheet and textbook as a media in the learning process, the teacher constrained with the limitation of facility and infrastructure that was available in the school. Based on the existing problems, with the research entitled "The Development of Readklopedia Book Media on Learning Reading Skill in the1st grade at SDN Girimoyo 02 Malang". The development of Readklopedia Book media aims to: (1) develop the Readklopedia Book media that is valid on learning reading skill in the 1st grade at SDN Girimoyo 02 Malang, (2) develop the effectiveness of Readklopedia Book media on learning reading skill in the 1st grade at SDN Girimoyo 02 Malang, (3) develop an interesting Readklopedia Book media on learning reading skill in the 1st grade at SDN Girimoyo 02 Malang.This research study uses research and development with ADDIE research model that consists of five stages including Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection techniques in this study conducted by observation, interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by means of quantitative and qualitative research were applied in research and development in order to recognize the validity, efficiency, and attractiveness. The result of the study obtained questionnaire validation of material experts 92% with valid category and the result of media expert questionnaire 92% withvalid category. Then, for media effectiveness obtained the result of students learning evaluation test on small group trial reached 81 with effective media category and for the large group trial reached 83 with effective media category. Observation of student learning activities on small group trial was obtained 75% with effective media category and large group trial was obtained 77% with effective media category. While in the media attractiveness, the result obtained from students’ response on small group trial 95% with interesting media category, large group trial obtained 93% students response with interesting media category and from the teachers’ response obtained 93% with interesting media category. The research result it can conclude that Readklopedia Book is a valid, effective and interesting media to use. The research suggestion is expected for further researcher to develop the material and media widely so that, it can be used in other elementary school.
