Abstract

Student learning activity on thematic learning process at the primary school of Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Malang is still low enough, so there was a need for improvement effort through applying of learning model by using cooperative script model. Based on the observation, many students still pay less attention to the teacher during the learning process, less actively ask or answer questions from the teacher, and the lack of enthusiasm of students when discussing. Therefore, this research aimed: (1) to analyze the implementation of cooperative script model on thematic learning of V-C students of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Malang, and (2) to explain the result of the V-C students' learning activity improvement SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Malang by using cooperative script model. This research used qualitative and quantitative approach. The type of research was Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects of this study were 22 V-C students of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Malang. This research was conducted in the second semester of academic year 2017/2018 in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The data in this study were qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data were interview result and field note result, while quantitative data were observation result of student learning activity, the result of observation of implementation of cooperative script model, and the result of a questionnaire of student response to cooperative script model. Technical data analysis in this research was qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. This research used the design of Suharsimi Arikunto. The results showed that there was an increase of learning activity by using cooperative script model on V-C students of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Malang. The first cycle earned an average of 58.6% and the second cycle earned an average of 91.79%. From these results, there was an increase of 33.19%. For the implementation of cooperative script model in the first cycle reached an average of 86.35% and the second cycle reached an average of 86.36%. Thus, the implementation of cooperative script model on thematic learning can improve V-C students' learning activity of SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau Malang.
