Abstract

Students of elementary school in the first entering of the MTs school tend to have problems in academic self-concept, namely on basic knowledge in religious subjects as well as internal and external problems in learning. The academic self concept is as an individual's assessment of his strengths and weaknesses in the academic field. The assessment includes the ability to follow the lessons and achievement in the academic field, individual achievements, and individual activities at school or in the classroom. This study aims to determine the concept of self-existing academic self in MTS students. The purpose of the research is adaptation of academic self concept scale proposed by Hattie (2014) with the subject of 230 Mts students coming from public elementary school with the use of a purposive sampling technical. The results of this study is that Mts students who come from general elementary school have a moderate academic selfconcept that is no students (0%) who have low academic self concept, there are 191 students (83.0%), who have moderate academic self concept and there is 39 students (16.9%) who have high academic self concept
