Abstract

The development of unggah-ungguh. Javanese language textbook can provide learning toward the students to build politeness and preserve local culture. Unggah-ungguhapplied can be attributed to the character building. Therefore, the development of this textbook consider important to overcome students difficulty by using unggah-ungguhJavanese Language. This study was focused on Javanese Language material unggah-ungguh by conducting textbook development which was aimed (1) to describe the process of textbook development unggah-ungguhmaterial in educational character building Javanese Language learning, (2) to describe the absorption level of unggah-ungguh material in educational character building of Javanese Language material. This type of research is research and development. This study used research steps and development model of ADDIE. The type of data in this study is a qualitative and quantitative. The data in this study was document need analysis, students’ characteristic, students’ Javanese Language worksheet and handbook, development design, validation questionnaire result from expert, teaching handbook, pre-test result, post-test, and students’ absorption questionnaire. The data source was from 4th grade teacher and students. Meanwhile, data collection method used interview, questionnaire, pre-test, post-test and documentation. The character developed in this textbook contained religious, nationalism, integrity, mutual cooperation, and independent values. Based on the validation from the expert related to textbook development of unggah-ungguh Javanese Language obtained 93.75%, from language expert was obtained 92.85%, book expert was 85%, and from class teacher was obtained 92.30%. It was also proved by post-test overall score test 1976 with mean score was 73.19. Therefore, it can be concluded that educational character building unggah-ungguh Javanese Language textbook can be used and very worthy as supporting unggah-ungguhJavanese Language material in SDN Purwantoro II Malang.
