Abstract

Based on the needs analysis conducted on October 30, 2017 in grade 4 SDN Kauman 3 Malang, through interviews with students that found data in learning activities that have been done only using printed books and teachers less utilize the available LCD media. So the need for a more innovative learning media. This study aims to determine: (1) the development of electronic encyclopedia media Various Work in Indonesia Theme 4 Various Subthemes Work 1 Types of Learning Works 1 Class 4 SD, (2) effectiveness of electronic encyclopedia media Various Jobs in Indonesia Theme 4 Various Subthemes 1 Types of Lesson 1 Class 4 SD. Researchers use qualitative and quantitative research data, while research method refers to R & D development model (Research and Development) by borg and gall which there are 10 steps, but researcher development only until step 7 that is 1. Research and information collecting, 2. Planning, 3. Develop preleminary form of product, 4. Main field testing, 5. Operational product revision, 6. Operational field testing, 7. Final product revision. The students who are targeted in the trial of electronic electronic media products are divided into 2, they are small scale 10 students and large scale 36 students (classical). Before product trial, media validation was done by media experts, material experts and learning experts and students' responses after using the media. The results showed that students were enthusiastic in learning using encyclopedia media, and the percentage of media expert's score was 85%, material experts were 90 % and 92.5 % learning experts, and got small student response questionnaire that was 92.5 % and large scale that was 95.14 % the average value of pretest small students is 60 and post test is 75 while on a large scale pretest value is 60.7 and post test is 79.2. In addition to the percentage of values, the learning process seen from students enthusiastic students in the response of each contents of electronic encyclopedia media, in the instructions of media usage is not all students have mastered the media, only a few students who dare to operate the media, in the media also exist voice to make students visible communication with the media and students also respond from the voice. Students do not know much that the content of the media turns out to be thematic learning because the content of the media does not show any change of learning changes unlike the thematic themes that students have.
