Abstract
Literacy learning conducted in Probolinggo district has not been maximized. It is caused by the lack of supporting facilities of learning infrastructure. One of infrastructure intended is instructional media. As a result, the learning motivation of community to learn in illiteracy is low. Therefore, this study aims to develop a wall chart illiteracy for the minapolitan community area in Probolinggo district. This study aims to: (1) Describe the development of illiteracy wall chart for the community of minapolitan area in Probolinggo district. (2) Knowing the response of tutor and community in learning media of wall chart illiteracy at minapolitan area in Probolinggo district. This research uses ADDIE development research model consists several stages; analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Wall chart is going to pass validation stages in its development; material validator, media and learning, and also tested in two stages that is small scale and large scale. The results of this study show (1) The process of developing the wall chart illiteracy refers to the five stages of ADDIE model such as in the analysis stage that produces the characteristic of the learner community and the competence demands that the learner should have. In addition, the design stage that produces the appropriate material selection process and the media design process. Moreover, the development stage that results the assessment from three validators with average percentage of 94.3% obtained. It can be conclude that the wall chart illiteracy is very valid or feasible to be used in the learning process. Then, the implementation stage that is conducted in small trials and large trials to determine the response tutors and the learner community. The last is evaluation stage which explains the wall chart illiteracy media is very valid and very interesting (2) Response tutor and learner community toward wall chart illiteracy media is very positive, indicated by the percentage of respondents from tutor learning is 100%, the responses of small group learners community is 96.5%, and large group learner community response is 98%. So it can be concluded that in the use of wall chart illiteracy material cultivation of catfish make the learner community eager and enthusiastic in learning and claimed as an interesting and fun product.
