Abstract

The issue of TB in North Korea is a priority health issue, following a civil war between North Korea and South Korea. In response, Eugene Bell Foundation emerged, aiming to work together to provide medical assistance with North Korea in addressing the ongoing TB problem. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods to explain how the role of Eugene Bell Foundation in providing medical assistance to overcome the problem of TB in North Korea. Furthermore, this study uses the concept of NGO and the role of International Organization as a framework to describe the roles shown by Eugene Bell Foundation in providing medical assistance to overcome the problem of TB. Later, the role of Eugene Bell Foundation's role in this research was identified in the NGO group, the NGO Service, as well as the role of independent actor. The results of this research are the role of the Eugene Bell Foundation in collaboration with the North Korean health ministry and educational institutions and the Role of the Information Media. The roles include a preview program sponsored by the Eugene Bell Foundation to disseminate information about the situation of North Korea with TB problems. The role of Eugene Bell Foundation as an independent actor in making decisions without being influenced by coercion from outside the organization, while North Korea began to be given sanctions due to nuclear weapons, Eugene Bell Foundation still provide assistance and invite people to care more about each other without seeing the country is experiencing political problems with other countries.
