Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of the problem of student achievement of second grade at SDN Sumbersuko 01 that is student still difficulties in math lesson so that the result is not maximal yet. This is because learning has not led the students to be active and interact with friends. The research aimed to describe: (1) applying of jigsaw cooperative learning model in an effort to improve student's learning achievement in second grade math lesson (2) improvement of student achievement in math lesson by applying cooperative learning model jigsaw grade 2 students. This research uses a qualitative approach and the type of research conducted is a classroom action research. Data taken in the form of results of observations and results of student achievement class II data source is the second grade students, SDN Sumbersuko 01, 2015/2016 academic year, amounting to 30 students. The study was conducted in December 2016 in two cycles. The research method of action planning to implement pre-cycle learning process in applying cooperative learning model jigsaw to improve student's learning achievement in lesson class II mathematics less maximal so that cycle I and cycle II maximum result. The results showed by the increase in the value of learning achievement in mathematics lessons in the cycle I to cycle II. Students who achieve mastery in the first cycle of 53.3% and in the second cycle of 80% with a value of ≥75. This shows that there is a significant increase in the value of student achievement in the second grade of mathematics students. The result of research by applying cooperative learning model of jigsaw is suggested to modify cooperative model of jigsaw as desired so that jigsaw cooperative model which made more interesting student attention during the learning and not monoton but also can be used as reference in learning implementation and develop more innovative learning that can support the success of learning.
