Abstract

Classroom learning media is still conventional because it still uses the lecture method. Sources of learning are limited so that learning feels boring. Even there is no learning media that is used to help the learning process, especially the material of puppet characters. This causes learners to consider learning Java language required to memorize and record. And can cause students less spirit and quickly bored during the learning process. If the learners are bored with the material, it is difficult to understand the lesson. Therefore, this study aims to produce a decent media used for grade V elementary school students in learning Java (Wayang Pandawa and Kurawa). This type of research is (Research and Development) using 4D development model that includes (Define), Design (Design), Development (Disseminate), from the boundary of research, researchers do until the stage Develop. try research SDN Ampeldento 01 Malang in class V which amounted to 18 students Year 2017/2018. Instruments used in this study is a questionnaire validation of media experts, material expert validation, validation of learning experts, and student response questionnaire Data analysis in this study using qualitative descriptive and descriptive quantitative, qualitative descriptive seen from interview result, preliminary observation, and suggestion from validator while quantitative descriptive seen from result of expert evaluation and product trial. Based on the result of the research, Kwarted Card media in Javanese language learning (figures of wayang pandawa and kurawa) for elementary school students who are eligible to be used include several criteria as according to learning objectives, to know Pandawa puppets and kurawa characters and character. This media is feasible to be used based on the validation results of media experts, material experts, learning experts, and student response questionnaires. Media validation result got score 95,65%, while the second validation by the media expert gets a score of 100% (Very Eligible), material validation result got score 93,33% (Very eligible), while result of validation of study expert got score 82,12% (Very eligible). The field test results showed a score of 97.5% (Very Eligible)
