Abstract

Mathematic learning on the years of 2017/2018 is not included as thematic learning. Students learn only from worksheet. Meanwhile, students’ worksheets are less effective because the material provided in worksheetsare limited and lack of independent building. There are many students’ difficulties in solving cube and cuboid nets material and find cube root or power. Therefore, it is needed to develop the handbook in a form of pop up on the cube and cuboid material of V grade students of elementary school. This handbook was developed by using ADDIE models. The first phase was analysing phase which analysed the basic competence, students’ need and interest, and material analysis. The second phase was designing which was aimed to create design of handbook as well as the prototype. The third phase was translating the design into physical form and developed valid and appropriate product. In developing valid and appropriate product, material and media validation was conducted by giving an evaluation and suggestion which then used as references in product improvement. The fourth phase was implementation which was the handbook implementation in learning process aimed to investigate the attractiveness and efficiency in learning process. The implementation was conducted in SDN Tanjungrejo 2 Malang with 42 V grade students as the subject of the study. The last phase was evaluation which aimed to evaluate each phase. The result of this study showed that the development of pop up handbook was valid and interesting. Feasibility test or validation in pop up handbook product was acknowledged as strongly valid product by validators which result of validation as follow; teaching media expert 95.8%, learning material expert 88.6%. Hence, the attractiveness of the product was obtained by students’ questionnaire responds which showed 98.09% score. Meanwhile, for the handbook implementation, it was showed that the handbook could be implemented in mathematic learning of V grade students of elementary school. It was shown by teachers’ questionnaire as the user which obtained 95.45% score. Furthermore, the observation result showed that student interested and independent in learning. Teachers’ interview showed that the implantation of the product was facilitating the concept building of the students.
