Abstract

Horticulture is an important commodity in the society and economy of the country, one of which is tomato. This study aims to analyze the marketing channel of tomatoes in Gading Kulon Village, Dau District of Malang Regency and analyze the amount of marketing margin, margin distribution and tomato commodity share in Gading Kulon Village, Dau District, Malang Regency. This research was conducted in Gading Kulon Village, Dau District of Malang Regency with the consideration that one of the tomato-producing regions. All tomato farmers were respondents (census method) and then studied the channel of marketing channel of tomato using snowball sampling method. This study was analyzed descriptively to describe marketing channels and for marketing margin analysis using quantitative data described in terms of numbers with marketing margin formulas, margin and share distributions. Based on the results of research and discussion, it is known that the tomato marketing channel in Gading Kulon Village, Dau District, Malang Regency has 4 marketing channels. The shortest channel is in Gading Kulon Village, Dau District, Malang Regency, while the longest channel is out of town such as Lamongan, Surabaya and Pasuruan. The farmer's marketing channel acts directly as a retailer so it does not have a marketing margin while the margin and farmer's share distribution is 100%. Marketing channel II has a marketing margin of Rp1.643 / Kg and farmer's share of 83.45%. Marketing channel III has a marketing margin of Rp2,735.3 / Kg and a shareholder of 71.90%. Marketing channel IV has a marketing margin of Rp4,147.1 / kg and farmer's share of 61.37%.
