Abstract

This research aims to know: (1) the development of learners’ worksheets based on scientific approach on thematic learning for students in the fourth grade, and (2) students’ response on the interest of the use of learners’ worksheets based on scientific approach on thematic learning for the students in the fourth grade. This research is a type of development research using Dick and Carrey model. Steps for the development of Dick and Carrey model are: (1) identify instructional goals, (2) conduct instructional analysis, (3) analyze learners and contexts, (4) write performance objectives, (5) develop assessment instruments, (6) develop instructional strategy, (7) develop and select materials, (8) design and conduct formative evaluation of instruction, (9) revise instruction, and (10) design and conduct summative evaluation. The subjects of the research are 41 students in the fourth grade at SDN 1 Bendorejo, Trenggalek and SDN 1 Kedunglurah, Trenggalek year of 2017/2018. This research was done on April 2018 by using an evaluation of 3 students individually, 8 students in a small group, and 30 students in a field test/large group. The results of this research is obtained from the validation process which is done by an expert in teaching materials of 98,33%, an expert in material of 88,33%, and an expert in teaching at SDN 1 Kedunglurah of 85,41%, and an expert in teaching at SDN 1 Bendorejo, Trenggalek of 89.58 % with each category resulting as "very worthy". The result of the questionnaires which was filled by the students through the individual evaluation which consisted of 3 students is 100%, evaluation of the small group which consisted of 8 students is 97,5%, and field test/evaluation of the large group which consisted of 30 students is 100%. Hence, the students’ response when using the learning materials can be categorized as "excellent". In conclusion, Learners’ Worksheets based on scientific approach on thematic learning is interesting and worth to be used for the students in the fourth grade.
