Abstract

Preeclampsia is a high blood supply of at least 140/90 mmHg. Preeclampsia is a risk that can endanger the mother and fetus because preeclampsia is one of the causes of high maternal mortality in addition to bleeding and infection in Indonesia. Until now there is no exact cause of preeclampsia. The role of the family is very much needed by means of giving access to health services, of course accompanying pregnant women to do health checks as a form of early detection and prevention of pregnancy complications. So the purpose of this case study is to determine the role of families in overcoming preeclampsia in pregnant women. This research design uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. The research data was taken using the interview method and using domain analysis data. Samples were taken as many as 3 participants namely pregnant women with preeclampsia, husbands and nieces who lived in one house in the span of June to July 2018. The results of the study show the role of the family in decision making, the role of the family in environmental modification and the role of the family in utilizing health services. Looking at the results of this study it is necessary to have a family role in overcoming preeclampsia in pregnant women.
