Abstract

cloves drying machine is a tool that is used to dry the cloves by using a conveyor as a driver and as a disseminator temperature blower. To help farmers who have land that is not too wide, it is made of cloves drying machine. Most people rely on the help of sunlight for drying cloves, while the clove harvest season occurs in the rainy season. Before starting the design must first perform a spaciousness research and collect data from clove farmers. Pahl and Beitz designing consists of four activities or phases, each of which consists of several steps. The fourth phase, is planning and explanation of the task, the design concept of the product, the design of the product shape (embodiment design), design detail. Based on the results of field research and data from clove farmers found a design of clove drying machine with a capacity of 20 kg. Conveyor driving force is obtained from manual driven by humans, the movement of the blower is driven by the hot temperature pressure of 70 o C obtained from the heater. Heating source of the machine is obtained from LPG fuel stove, the heat generated by the stove for temperature 70 oC is equal to Qtotal 38783.14 kj kj. Heating time in a single drying process of cloves with a temperature of 70 oC takes 100 minutes in a single process.
