Abstract

Various efforts to increase the production of sugarcane need to be done including through the provision of good and fast growing seeds. Efforts to accelerate the germination of sugarcane seedlings can be done by soaking the seeds into warm water and the growth regulator solution. Hot water immersion will soften the skin of sugar cane seeds so as to facilitate the growth of shoots and roots. The dissolution of Rootone-F's growing root regulator directly contributes to the physiological processes of cane buds by encouraging cell division and cell development. This study examined the effect of bud chip seed immersion treatment in warmed Rootone-F solution has not been reported. This study was to investigate the differences in response of three varieties of turbidity treatment of ZPT Rootone-Fsolution. This study was prepared in a complete randomized control group (RKLT) design. The first factor is varieties (V1 = PS 881, V2 = PS 862, V3 = BL) and the second factor is the temperature treatment of ZPT Rootone-F solution to soak bud bud seed (T1 = 45˚C T2 = 50˚C T3 = 50˚C ), so that 9 treatment combinations were obtained. Each treatment combination was repeated three times. The data obtained were analyzed by F test of 5% and 1% level followed by real difference test of honest (BNJ) of 5% level. There is also a correlation test between variables. The results showed that the interaction between sugarcane varieties and Rootone-F solution temperature was not significant at all observed variables except the number of leaf age 63 HST, in other words, the response of three varieties of sugarcane which tested the same relative at the treatment of Rootone-F solution to soak bud seed chip. Separately PS881 variety showed better growth than PS 862 and BL in terms of plant height, quantity, leaf area, stem diameter, fresh weight and dry weight of root part, stem, leaf and total weight of the three parts. The Rootone-F temperature treatment to soak the bud chip seeds was not significant except on the number and extent of the leaf age of 77 HST. Soaking bud seed in Rootone-F solution with 45˚C temperature produces more leaf and wider than at temperature 50˚C and 55˚C. The correlation analysis shows that almost all observed variables are correlated posistifely and real/very real except with number of tillers. The highest correlation was (0.99) between the total fresh weight of the plant and the root weight, while the lowest correlation (0.30) between leaf area and stem diameter.
