Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of CPS model with Open Ended approach in learning Mathematic, student’s problem solving skills using CPS model with Open Ended approach, student’s creative thinking ability using CPS model with Open Ended approach. The type of this research is descriptive with qualitative and quantitative approach. The object of this research is the application of CPS learning model with Open Ended approach, student’s problem solving ability, and student’s creative thinking ability after learning CPS model with Open Ended approach. The data sources are 7th grade students of SMP PGRI 01 DAU and researchers. The data is taken through observation to know the activity of teacher and student, and test to know problem solving ability and creative thinking of student in writing. Data analysis is done by calculating the percentage of value on each indicator to know the level of teacher’s achievement and student’s activity, student’s problem solving ability, and student's creative thinking ability. The results show that the application of CPS learning model with Open Ended approach can be well implemented in accordance with the lesson plan. Teacher’s activity get an average score of 3,54 with very good category, while student’s activity get an average score of 3,36 with good a category. Student’s problem solving ability get the average score of 78,75 with high problem solving ability category. Furthermore, student’s creative thinking ability get the average score of 72,2 with moderate creative thinking category.
