Abstract

This study aims to know whether students' autonomy in learning has any influence on their mathematics learning outcomes by using simple linear regression test. This research used quantitative approach of a correlational description as the research method. The subject of this study were 45 students from VII-A and VII-C class. Questionnaire and test were used as the instruments in this study to know students’ autonomy and students’ learning outcomes. In analyzing the data, descriptive statistical analysis was used to describe the data about autonomy, while simple linear regression analysis was used to determine whether there is an influence of autonomy on learning outcomes, and correlation analysis was used to determine how the direction of influence between autonomy and learning outcomes. The result of this study shows that there is a positive influence between students’ autonomy and their mathematics learning outcomes up to 11.9%. The students’ autonomy is within good category, with the indicator of being responsible for their actions obtains the highest average, while the indicator of confidence obtains the lowest average. The result indicates that 51.11% of students passed the test with a score of ≥ 70 and 48.89% students did not pass the test with a score of <70.
