Abstract

The purpose of this study are: 1) Know the influence of production factors that affect productivity. 2) Knowing the production of tobacco samporis in District Paiton Probolinggo regency. 3) Knowing technical efficiency, price efficiency and economic efficiency of tobacco samporis in Paiton Sub-district, Probolinggo District. The data of this research use primary and secondary data. The analysis method used in this research is multiple regression analysis and efficiency analysis of frontier production function. The result of the analysis indicates that the use of production factor has an effect on the productivity of tobacco samporis, the effect is obtained from the calculation of multiple regression test obtained value r.Hitung (0.867)> r.Table (0.344), in accordance with the regression test requirements can be drawn conclusions against hypothesis in research that there is influence of production factor to tobacco productivity. Big influence can be seen by taking into account the value of R2 obtained that is equal to 75,2%, it can be concluded variable of land area, seed, fertilizer, pesticide and labor have influence 75,2% to productivity of tobacco samporis, while the rest 24,8% explained by other factors not included in the study. Based on the analysis result obtained technical efficiency value by using frontier method that is equal to 0,88, this value shows technical efficiency level of production of tobacco samporis which reach 88% and 12% rest is opportunity that can be used by farmer to increase temakakau productivity in research area. when viewed from the efficiency of the price obtained the efficiency value for successive land area (0.00185), seeds (0.00097), fertilizer (0.01492), pesticides (3.25956) and labor (0.09715). It can be concluded that farmers have not been maximized in using production factors. Dilhat of economic efficiency diadapat value of efficiency that is 0.593907, it can be concluded that the tobacco farmers have not maximized using production factors. However, if viewed from the value of calculation of Return To Scale in the value of 1.359 is in the condition of Increasing Return To Scale, so it can mean that tobacco production is still profitable to continue to be managed and developed by farmers in the research area.
